Dr. Amanda Weston DNP, PMHNP - BC

Whether you are seeking first time psychiatric care or are in need of a new provider, I am honored to guide you to the wellness you seek and deserve.  I treat children, adolescents, and adults with a broad spectrum of psychiatric concerns and needs.  If medication is deemed appropriate for your or your child's symptoms, it is my main goal to prescribe the least amount of medication possible to optimally treat you/your child.

As each of us are unique, so are the lives we live and the expectations we have in creating a balanced life.  With your permission, I will collaborate with the other members of your mental health team to provide the best care possible.  You can expect all of us to work together to create an individualized treatment plan and to aid you and/or your child in achieving the goals we have set together.

Under my care and guidance, you will find me to be focused on holistic treatment.  It will be my request for you to get laboratory work, and electrocardiograms (EKG) intermittently for me to better monitor your medical health in conjunction with your mental health.  With this information, it will be my intention to collaborate with your other medical providers as needed.

The journey to a managed and balanced life is not one without trials and challenges, especially when there are psychiatric concerns.  I am here for you and your family and am grateful to assist you in making those challenging times more manageable.

Telepsychiatry describes the delivery of psychiatric assessments and care through videoconferencing.

Guiding Balance uses a HIPAA** compliant videoconferencing program that enables clients to have their psychiatric appointment within the comfort of their own chosen environment, such as their home, or the convenience of a time not specified to the office hours.  This service is offered to established patients only and in special circumstances where getting to the office is difficult.  Telepsychiatry works on several types of devices such as, but not limited to, Windows desktops, Windows laptops, Mac desktops, Mac laptops, iPads (or iPad minis), iPhones, and Android devices.

**The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) standardizes the way health information is shared.  This Act ensures PRIVACY regarding your health information.  With HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing software, you can guarantee that all your information remains safe and protected.

Guiding Balance is an out-of-network mental health provider.  Accepted payment methods include all major credit cards, debit card, bank transfer, Apple pay, android pay, Samsung pay, Google wallet, check, and cash.  It is recommended that you contact your insurance company prior to beginning treatment to inquire about your out-of-network mental health benefits.  Guiding Balance will complete and submit the insurance claim forms in order for you to receive your insurance reimbursement by mail.  The full fee is expected to be paid at the time of service delivery.

The initial Psychiatric Evaluation is a 2.5 to 3 hour appointment. A credit card will be secured upon booking the first appointment and will be charged 75$ for No-Show/Late Cancellations.  Follow-up/Medication Management appointments are 45 minutes long and are booked monthly unless otherwise indicated.
